Threads of Heritage

Threads of Heritage was created to reinterpret the richness of Malay traditional craftsmanship through contemporary abstract art. Rather than depicting a literal village or landscape, the composition draws inspiration from the visual language of songket weaving, traditional wood carving, and geometric Malay ornamentation.

The structured vertical patterns represent tradition and foundations, while the sweeping forms moving across the artwork symbolize how culture continues to evolve from one generation to another. The contrast of burnt terracotta, ivory, black, and antique gold gives this piece a warmer and bolder identity than the emerald-based designs.
